Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how PrayZone (“we,” “us,” or “our”) may collect, use, store, and share information when you use the PrayZone mobile application (the “App”) and related services. It applies where the App is distributed and used in accordance with its terms. We aim to describe our practices in plain language while retaining appropriate legal caution; where something depends on your settings, device, or region, we note that it may apply only in those circumstances.
1. Who we are
PrayZone is provided in connection with the domain prayzone.app. For privacy-related requests, contact us at support@prayzone.app.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you use the App and your choices, we may process categories such as:
- Location data. The App may collect precise location (for example via GPS) when you grant permission, including in the foreground. If you enable features that require awareness of when you enter or leave geographic areas, the App may request background location where supported. We do not claim that location is never collected when those features or permissions are in use.
- Account and authentication data. If you choose to sign in, we may process identifiers such as a user id, and—where you use Google Sign-In or email sign-in—information provided by those methods (for example, an email address associated with your account).
- Saved places, settings, and preferences. Data you save in the App (such as saved locations or configuration choices) may be stored on your device and, if you use optional sync, on backend systems as described below.
- Advertising and measurement. Where the App displays ads, we may use Google AdMob (or similar providers if we change providers in the future). AdMob may use identifiers and measurement data as described in Google’s policies and your device settings.
- Diagnostics and performance. We may collect crash logs, diagnostics, or usage data where applicable to maintain and improve the App, subject to platform capabilities and your settings.
In-app purchases. The App does not offer in-app purchases, subscriptions, or other paid tiers.
3. Purposes of processing
We may use the information above to:
- Provide prayer times, maps, mosque discovery, and related core functionality;
- Operate optional features such as geofence or silence-related behavior where you enable them and where permitted by the operating system;
- Authenticate you and provide optional sign-in and data sync;
- Serve or measure advertising where AdMob is used;
- Maintain security, debug issues, and improve stability and performance;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Sync and backend services (Supabase)
If you use optional sign-in or cloud sync, certain data may be stored or processed using Supabase (or comparable infrastructure we use). In that case, Supabase acts as a service provider hosting data we instruct it to process on our behalf, in accordance with its documentation and applicable agreements. The categories of data synced may include account identifiers and user-generated content such as saved places and settings, as implemented in the App.
5. Google services
We may rely on Google services, including where applicable:
- Google Sign-In for authentication, subject to Google’s terms and privacy notices;
- Google AdMob for advertising and related measurement.
Google’s use of information may be governed by Google’s policies and your Google account and device settings. We encourage you to review those resources where relevant.
6. Sharing
We may share information with service providers who assist in operating the App (such as hosting, authentication, analytics, or advertising partners), when required by law, or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration in the conventional sense; where “sale” or “sharing” has specific meanings under applicable laws (for example certain U.S. state laws), we may provide additional notices or controls as required.
7. Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Some data may be removed sooner if you delete your account or request deletion, subject to the limitations below. Backup or residual copies may persist for a limited period where technically unavoidable.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The App is not directed at children under the age required by applicable law for standalone consent to data processing. If you believe we have collected information from a child inappropriately, contact us and we will take appropriate steps where feasible.
10. International transfers
Where we or our processors store or process data in countries other than your country of residence, such transfers may occur as permitted by law and with appropriate safeguards where required (such as contractual clauses offered by service providers).
11. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object or opt out of certain uses. You may control permissions (including location) in your device settings, manage Google account and ad settings where applicable, and request account deletion as described on our account deletion page.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and adjust the effective date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as appropriate under applicable law or through the App.
